‘Blue Water Spa’ : A top attraction for winter traffic

The Spa concept was introduced to the world leisure industry over two decades ago and it is being still introduced to Sri Lanka. More top hotels in Sri Lanka wre opening spas in order to attract the top end of the market
'Blue Water Spa' is the latest and the fourth member of the Jetwing Spa family.
The 'Blue Water Spa' at the Hotel Blue Water in Wadduwa, is the most modern and purpose built spa in the chain. The Spa is elegantly designed by Channa Daswatte, the popular architect.
Lighthouse Hotel, Galle, Ayurvedha Pavilion and The Beach in Negombo are the other spas in the Jetwing chain. 'Blue Water Spa' was opened in September this year, has already earned a name from travel partners around the world.
According to Roshan Perera, the General Manager of the hotel, the 'Blue Water Spa' is hitting the right direction and the demand is for specialized treatments thats make the management to open the Spa before the official opening date.
'The bookings during the winter season are very much encouraging. Some people travel to Sri Lanka specially to get the spa treatments. He said 'We are marketing special five to seven day Spa Packages to European clientele through our travel agents. The response is very positive' he added.
'Blue Water Spa' offers wide range of massages, facial treatments, body wraps and body rubs. The Chief Therapist of the Spa, W.D.B.S. Sunanda said, the spa has designed unique packages for both Sri Lankans clientele and overseas visitors.
Blue Water Harmony, Blue Water Signature Treatment, Japanese, Swedish and Thai Massages, Aroma Therapy-Head and Shoulder Massage, ranging from 30 minutes to two hours are the popular Massages.
In addition to these massages, Beauty Treatments, Aromatherapy Back Treatment, Blue Water Honey Facial, Blue Water Salt Scrub, Dill Moisture,Wet Cloth Therapy are some of the other attractions.
'Unlike Ayurvedha treatments, where a particular disease is treated, Spa Treatments are for wellness and can be enjoyed by any walks of life' Chief Therapist Sunanda said.
'The Saliya Asokamala one hour therapy of Romance' designed for a couple (man and woman) are in demand as it offers treatments together by two therapists' Roshan said. The cold and hot water plunge pools Jaquzzi steam room are the other attritions.
Also on offer is the Blue Water Day Package, which includes stretching Yoga, Manicure and Padicure treatments.
The price range from Rs 2600/- to Rs. 13,000/-
Blue Water consists of 96 standard rooms and four deluxe suites and is managed by Jetwing Hotels
All rooms have a scenic view of the beach and is fitted with luxurious baths, modern equipment inclusive of a mini fridge, four channel piped music and satellite television. Apart from the culinary delights at the main, air-condition bar with karaoke, open-air coffee shop, a futuristic discotheque, conference hall and a pool bar stand tall at the Blue Water.
