Three young men were abducted Friday night by unidentified persons in Trincomalee later found shot dead in the same area.

Their bullet riddled bodies were found Saturday morning on the roadside, one at Chelvanayakapuram, about 2 km off north of east port town and the other two at Allesgarden, where two Sri Lanka Navy sailors were wounded in in a suspected Tamil rebel claymore mine explosion.

Uppuveli Police, conducting investigations into the killings said the victims, between the ages 19 and 30, were Tamils.

Two sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy were injured in a claymore mine attack Friday morning at Allesgarden area along Trincomalee-Nilaveli road. The truck transporting SLN personnel who were returning home on leave hit the claymore mine kept along the roadside. Allesgarden is located about three km off north of east port city.

The three Tamil men were identified as Jeyarajah Jeyatheepan, Achuthan sasikaran and Niroshan Patrick.
