1815 - Kandyan kindom falls to british, Adams peak was first climbed by a European, Lieut Maclcolm of the 1st Regiment
1816 The ex-kandy kings and his family was sent to Madras
1817 Mr Wilson Govt agent at Badulla was killed by rebels:)
1818 First cargo of Coconut oil taken from Ceylon to UK by Capt Boyd of Aberdeen, Keppitopola was captured
1820 Sir edward Barnes,Lieut Govner-all ceylon tranquilized under british rule, Sir Harding Giffard, chief Justice and Mr Justice Byrne constitue Supreme courts, Mr. Geo Bird commence Coffe planting in Kandy
1822- Bridge of Boats over Kelaniya completed
1823 Kandy road Tunnel completed
1826 The Infiction of capital punishment upon woen by drowning in the Kandyan proivinces abolished
1827 First regular Coffe plantaion opened
1828 Nuwara Eliya established as a Military Convalescent station
1829- The commission of the Enquiry (mr Cameron and Lieut-col Colebrooke) who were appointed to report all matters relating the admin of the Govt of Ceylon
1831 The Kandy mail Coach, the first mail coach in Asia started in 1st Feb, The Colombo Journal started(1st Jan) by the Governor of cey.But disontinued on 31st Dec1833 on orders fro Englan, the home authorities being severly criticized in it, Ceylon Saving bank Opened, Compulsory Labour abolished, Ex King of Kandy died at Vellore
1833- The island divided into five province, The new Charter of Justice was proclaimed and new Supreme courts opened The legislative and execitive councils instituted
1834- First meeting of the legistative council held in Colombo
Ceylon Gazetteer by Mudaliyar Simon Cassie Chetty published.
Colombo Observer newspaper started and latter cahnged to Ceylon Observor in1867
