Yet another body of a Lankan with vital organs missing arrived yesterday at the Katunayake Airport. The victim was a housemaid and a mother of six who had left for Jordan in 1993. The post-mortem conducted at the Colombo Hospital Morgue found the heart missing in the body.

According to the family the victim had been in regular contact with home through letters, sending them cash till about 1995.

Since then there was no news of her until a letter arrived in 1997 where she spoke about the hardships she had to face and also that her employers had taken away her passport and was not paying her salary. Thereafter nothing was heard of her until the family received a telegram from the Foreign Employment Bureau informing about her death.

The victim is Rathi Bandi Devayalage Dayawathie (43) from Galigamuwa in the Kegalle district. her husband Peter Singo (51) said Dayawathie left for Jordan not through a job agency. His wife's death was a mystery.

Additional City Coroner Ashraff Rumy who conducted the inquest put off the verdict for 9th September. The post-mortem was conducted by Dr. S. Chandrapalan. Early in June the body of a Lankan male who died in Italy was flown to Sri Lanka stripped of its vital organs.
