It should be noted that Buddhism is not a religion. It's a Philosophy. In Sri Lanka we have only 70% of Buddhists. There are countries who have more than 90% Buddhists in South Asia and Far East Asia.

Yes, but even in Thailand at 90% buddhist population, there is rampant violence, sex, theft, etc ...
Buddhism cannot be considered a straight-forward religion, but neither can it be called just a philosophy. That's why both government officials and the religious leaders need to take stands. It sometimes feels as if neither wants to do anything about any problems.
